Allison Bean, MD, PhD

Dr. Bean received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine with the UPMC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Bean's clinical practice focuses on non-surgical treatment of sports injuries, including joint, tendon, and ligament disorders. She specializes in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostic and interventional applications including administration of orthobiologics. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of musculoskeletal tissue injury and repair, using this knowledge to guide the development of novel regenerative rehabilitation therapies to improve physical function.
