Henry Hsia, MD

Dr. Henry H. Hsia is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia Service. Hsia performs catheter ablation to treat complex arrhythmias, or irregular heart beats, particularly ventricular tachycardia. In his research, he addresses new mapping techniques for identifying unstable, life-threatening heart rhythms.

Hsia earned a medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He completd an internal medicine residency at the University of Michigan Health System and a cardiology fellowship at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Before joining UCSF, he worked at the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Stanford University. At UCSF, he is a health sciences clinical professor of medicine.
