Progress in Prostate Cancer Appears to Slow

The American Cancer Society reported its biggest single-year drop in the cancer death rate in January 2020. Some cancers, though, such as prostate, didn't mirror that steep decline, giving the impression of less progress. Dr. Daniel Lin, chief of urologic oncology at UW Medical Center, interprets the information differently and offers context. Over the last 25 years, he says, there has been a 25-30% decrease in deaths from prostate cancer.
