An Inside Look at Penn Medicine’s Level I Trauma Center

In this video, C. William Schwab, MD, FACS, and Edward T. Dickinson, MD, FACEP, describe the design, the technology, the resources and the diverse and coordinated specialist teams now housed in the Level I Trauma Center at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Created by professionals in the field, the Penn Trauma Center has the single goal of saving lives. Thus, every facet of the Center, from the emergency department to the intensive care units, has been designed around the needs of severely injured patients to expedite treatment and ensure a comprehensive breadth of care.

C. William Schwab, MD, FACS, is the Founding Chief of the Division of Traumatology, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency Surgery; Edward T. Dickinson, MD, FACEP, is the Director of EMS Field Operations at Penn.
