Hayes, M.D., a cardiologist and founder of Mayo Clinic's Women's Heart Clinic, discuss how a research study was initiated by patients via social media to study spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD), a rare condition in which tears of the layers of the artery wall can block normal blood flow into and around the heart.
