As a result of participating in this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Review evidence as to why patients with obesity are likely at increased risk to develop adverse outcomes from COVID-19
  • Identify the potential for worsening obesity related to the mental stress from COVID-19 as it relates to poor nutritional habits and decreased physical activity
  • Discuss unique barriers to access to food during a pandemic and the steps practitioners can make to improve intake of fruit and vegetables

 

The target audience for this presentation: Currently practicing physicians who actively see patients in primary care, pediatrics, GYN, orthopedics, and neurology.
