St. David’s HealthCare strives to help surgical patients recover more quickly and reduce their dependence on medication. The Enhanced Surgical Recovery (ESR) Program is a research-based, multidisciplinary approach which improves the surgical and postoperative recovery experience. The faculty will discuss the St. David’s North Austin Medical Center ESR program from preadmission to the postoperative spectrum from a Surgery, Anesthesia, and Nursing standpoint, as well as discuss the impact of ESR on patient satisfaction, shortened hospital stays and fewer complications.
