Comprehensive Cardiac MRI Therapy is a Must for Cardiac Safety

Washington University radiologist, Pamela Woodard, MD, presents an overview and update on how cardiac MRI can provide cardiac assessment and management of patients undergoing chemotherapy. The presentation also includes an accurate assessment of baseline and post-chemotherapy left ventricular systolic function (LVEF) and demonstration of baseline and post-chemotherapy myocardial scarring/fibrosis. Lastly, cardiac MRI has the potential to predict myocardial dysfunction by assessment of pre- and post-treatment measurement of longitudinal and circumferential strain, and through assessment of native (non-contrast) and post-contrast T1-mapping and extracellular volume (ECV).
