Arthur B Markman, Ph.D.

After getting a B.S. in Cognitive Science from Brown University in 1988, Dr. Markman went on to complete graduate school in the Psychology Department at the University of Illinois, where he received his Ph.D. in 1992. He spent five years as an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Columbia University.  

In 2011-2018, Dr. Markman served as the founding director of the program in the Human Dimensions of Organizations. This program aims to provide education in the humanities and the social and behavioral sciences to people in business, nonprofits, government, and the military.  

Currently, Dr. Markman serves as the executive director of the IC2 Institute.  He has written blogs for several outlets and hosts on a radio show and podcast called Two Guys on Your Head, which is a short feature that explores topics associated with the brain and is produced by KUT.
