Paul Sasaura, MD

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Paul M. Sasaura has been saving the lifestyles of patients of all ages since joining Summit Orthopedic Specialists in 2002. Dr. Sasaura specializes in hip and knee joint reconstruction and revision surgery. He has special expertise in minimally invasive as well as computer and robotic-assisted surgery.

New technological advances in orthopedic surgery inspire him to provide the most cutting edge procedures for his patients and get them on the road to peak health and function. After receiving his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Sasaura completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center. During his residency, he also trained at the Shriners Hospital for Children. After his residency, Dr. Sasaura was awarded the Timothy Bray Award for Excellence in Orthopedic Trauma.
 

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the California Orthopedic Association as well as the Lipscomb-Chapman Orthopedic Alumni Society. He was the first surgeon in the region to offer computer assisted joint replacement surgery and the first to perform MAKO robotic joint surgery. He was also one of the first surgeons in the area to perform outpatient joint replacement surgery getting patients to recover in their own homes the very day of surgery. Dr. Sasaura frequently holds joint educational talks in the community and travels the country teaching other orthopedic surgeons about computer and robotic-assisted joint surgery as well.
