Langerman

Alexander Langerman, MD, specializes in the latest diagnostic, treatment and surgical techniques for head, neck, and skull base disorders, cancers and other tumors. His clinical interests include thyroid and parotid disease, carotid body tumors, Zenker’s diverticulum, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, and rehabilitation of paralyzed vocal cords and facial nerves. He completed a fellowship in head and neck surgery, skull base surgery and microvascular reconstruction. Dr. Langerman is also a trained specialist in robotic surgery.

Dr. Langerman is the director of the Operative Performance Research Institute, a surgical think tank that studies operating room efficiency and safety. He has active collaborations with The Booth School of Business, the Computation Institute and the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design. Dr. Langerman is also a faculty member of The MacLean Center for Medical Ethics and researches surgical ethics and data ethics, with a particular interest in data recording in the operating room.
