Katherine Mager, MD

I was born and raised in New York City, where I attended college at Columbia University. I did my medical school training in Philadelphia at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Jefferson University (previously Jefferson Medical College) then returned to New York City for residency training at New York University Medical Center and fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During my fellowship, my training covered all aspects of care of women with gynecologic malignancies with a focus on minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery and treatment of advanced and recurrent ovarian malignancies.

My areas of clinical interest include the treatment of gynecologic malignancies, consisting of cancers of the ovary, cervix, uterus, vulva, and vagina. I have a particular interest in surgical management, including fertility-sparing surgery for early-stage cancers. My research interests include better understanding the interplay between the immune system and gynecologic cancers, the treatment of cervical cancer, and improvements in surgical management of all gynecologic malignancies. I am also passionate about medical education and have won numerous awards for resident education as both a resident and a fellow. I am a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology.
