U.S. News & World Report Names Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center Among Nations’ Best for 2023-2024

For the 23rd consecutive year, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center has been recognized as a Best Hospital for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report. This year, Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center is ranked as the best hospital for cancer care in New England and #5 in the nation.

US News Cancer 23-24Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center was also noted as being high-performing for the following conditions and procedures: leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma and surgery for colon, lung, ovarian, uterine, and prostate cancer.

The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings and ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive quality care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center brings together specialists from two world-class medical centers, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. With deep experience in treating various cancers and including experts from a wide span of disciplines, such as medical and radiation oncologists, cancer surgeons and many others, patients at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center have access to the latest treatments for their disease along with clinical trials for promising new therapies.

For the 2023-24 ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions; only 12% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care and patient experience.

“For 34 years, U.S. News has provided data-informed rankings to help patients and their doctors find the best hospital to treat their illness or condition,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital once again was named to the Honor Roll of Best Hospitals, and ranked high performing in 11 out of 15 specialties. In addition to the cancer ranking, the Brigham’s Obstetrics and Gynecology specialty was ranked first in the nation.  Rheumatology ranked fifth nationally. The Brigham also earned the highest distinction in 19 out of the 20 of the most serious and complicated medical conditions and procedures ranked by U.S. News. For more information on the Brigham’s rankings, visit here.

In June, U.S. News ranked the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center the #2 pediatric cancer program in the country.
