Mount Sinai Researcher Receives Prestigious Award From the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization

Andrea Wolf, MD, Director of the New York Mesothelioma Program at the Mount Sinai Health System, has received the prestigious 2022 Irving J. Selikoff Lifetime Achievement Award from the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization.

The award is presented annually to an individual or organization for their dedication to increasing awareness and prevention efforts to eliminate asbestos-related diseases. The award is named in honor of Dr. Selikoff, who first discovered the relationship between asbestos and mesothelioma at Mount Sinai, establishing a legacy of expertise in this disease, occupational medicine, and environmental medicine.

Dr. Wolf has also been recognized by Women in Thoracic Surgery. She sees patients at the Center of Excellence for Thoracic Oncology.
